MARQUETTE – A quartet of boys gymnasts from Peak Gymnastics and Fitness in Marquette competed downstate the weekend of April 1-3 in the 2016 USA Gymnastics Men’s Michigan State Meet.
Peak’s Level 4 competitors took sixth place overall among 22 teams.
The local gymnasts and their results follow:
Teyan Buchler (Level 4, age 9-10) tied for state champion on high bar, seventh in parallel bars and ninth on floor, pommel horse and vault. He also placed fifth in all-around.
Josiah Swanson (Level 4, age 11-12) tied for sixth in parallel bars, placed ninth in high bar and tied for ninth in floor. He received the USAG Rising Star Award.
Milo Staley (Level 4, age 11-12) captured a state championship in floor, rings and high bar. He also placed second in parallel bars, tied for third in pommel horse and tied for seventh in vault. He copped first in all-around.
Solen Chiodi (Level 5, age 10) claimed a state title in floor, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar. He also tied for seventh in vault and captured first in all-around.
