NPL to hold robotics interest meeting

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Public Library will hold a robotics interest meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday. Families with children of all ages are welcome to attend and find out about the library's summer plans to offer weekly robotics clubs for different age ranges. As part of the interest meeting, dates and times for the robotics clubs will be determined. The robotics clubs are sponsored by a grant from the Pizza Hut Foundation. Lakenenland to host scouting session

HARVEY — Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops and the Venture Crew in Marquette and Alger counties invite families with girls or boys aged 5 or older to “Spring into Scouting” on from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Lakenenland Sculpture Park east of Marquette on M-28. Families can enjoy fishing, observing nature in the bog, crossing a monkey bridge, fire starting, Angry Bird games, miniature boat races, making a craft and seeing the amazing sculptures. Marquette city manager to hold community office hours

MARQUETTE — Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 10, in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side) in Marquette. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with city staff about interests and concerns.

Food truck coming to Harvey

HARVEY — Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a mobile food pantry. Distribution will take place at Silver Creek Church, 219 Silver Creek Road, in Harvey, on Thursday, June 11. Food distribution will begin at 10 a.m. and continue while supplies last or until 11:30 a.m. Food will be available for approximately 600 families. Program on lake sturgeon in the Great Lakes planned

MARQUETTE — Join the MooseWood Nature Center at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Peter White Public Library's Community Room for a discussion about the largest freshwater fish in North America — the lake sturgeon. Learn about lake sturgeon’s unique ecology, biology, history, and how fisheries are managed to support this species.
