Program on lake sturgeon in the Great Lakes planned
MARQUETTE — Join the MooseWood Nature Center at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room for a discussion about the largest freshwater fish in North America — the lake sturgeon.
Learn about lake sturgeon’s unique ecology, biology, history, and how fisheries are managed to support this species. Speaking will be Edward Baker, an expert on sturgeon and research station manager for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Marquette Fisheries Research Station.
Admission is free, but a $10 donation is suggested to help support MooseWood Nature Center.
