MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University Nordic ski team returns to Houghton for the second straight weekend, this time for the two-day MTU Open on hosted by Michigan Tech.

Sprint events will be held Saturday and freestyle on Sunday at the MTU Trails.

On Sunday at the same place, the NMU men swept the top three places in the men’s 15-kilometer classic race and the Wildcat women the top four in the women’s 10K classic.

Senior Zak Ketterson won the men’s race in 45 minutes, 30.59 seconds, more than a minute and a half ahead of the rest of the field, while in the women’s race, Northern senior Kristen Bourne won in 35:43.07.
