Yam Haus, bass player Zach Beinlich said: “Yam Haus has been forming ever since the three of us from Hudson (Wisconsin) met in high school. While playing together in high school for various bands and events, I think we realized we really liked playing music together and had a special bond. Jake was the final and arguably most important piece of the puzzle, allowing Yam Haus to officially form in August of 2017.

“Prior to naming the band, we all lived in the same house that we called the ‘Yam House.’ While deciding to live with each other, we wanted to embody the idea of community and treating each other as we would want to be treated, creating the acronym YAM, which stands for ‘You Are Me.’ We want to create a culture where we treat others like we would treat ourselves, the world would be a much better place if that were the case!”
