Boss waives arraignment

Boss

MARQUETTE — The former football coach at Finlandia and Northern Michigan universities arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault-domestic violence entered a not guilty plea Monday in Marquette County District Court.

Robert Boss’s Monday arraignment on the count was waived, according to court documents. His attorney, Karl Numinen, had called in an appearance for Boss’s arraignment in the 96th District Court.

Boss was scheduled for a pretrial conference on June 11.

Boss, 34, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of aggravated assault-domestic violence.

He was lodged in the Marquette County Jail before being released on a $5,000 bond Friday.

The aggravated assault-domestic violence charge stems from a August 2016 incident, according to court documents.

Boss had worked most recently as head football coach at Finlandia and was formerly NMU’s co-interim head football coach.

School officials from Finlandia said he was separated from his position April 18.
