NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Miners boys tennis team moved to 4-0 on the season with an 8-0 victory over the visiting Gwinn Modeltowners.

“Luke (Syrjala) put a nice all around match together today and it’s good to see confidence grow early on,” said Kyle Saari, Negaunee tennis coach. “James (Thomson) and Gavin (Jacobson) played well in their first match together today. “

Syrjala claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Daniel Pasinetti at No. 2 singles.

Thomson-Jacobson beat Tadem Gaines-Luke Kainulainen 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Other singles winners were Will Luke at No. 1, Corbin Marshall at No. 3 and Mick Kumpala at No. 4 (by default).

Doubles winners included Nick Jacobetti-Gavin Saunders at No. 1; Jace Turri-Zack Brundage at No. 2; and James Dank-Nathan Marcotte at No. 4 (by default).
