Miners take 2 from Hematites
NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Miners girls softball team swept visiting Ishpeming Tuesday night at LaCombe Field.
In the first game, the Miners shut out the Hematites, 11-0, with Josie Thomson the winning pitcher.
Hailey Hytinen took the loss for Ishpeming.
Offensive leaders for the Miners were Ally Ennett, who had a hit and two runs scored. Katrina Symons went 1-1 and scored two runs.
Game two was a 14-5 victory for the Miners.
Payton Manninen took the loss for the Hematites.
NHS winning pitcher Larissa Anderson helped her own cause with three hits and three runs scored.
Miner Samantha Richards contributed a home run, a triple and 5 RBIs.
Negaunee coach Randy Carlson said his team was scheduled to play at Iron Mountain Wednesday and at Marquette on Thursday.
