NMU diving: Kearny paces ‘Cats at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Northern Michigan University diving team wrapped up its training trip at Air Force on Thursday, facing off against Northern Colorado.

“The trip went very well and I believe we all learned a lot,” said freshman Karsyn Textor. “It was nice having a change of scenery to learn and grow from each other.”

NMU junior Molly Kearny placed second in the competition with a score of 51.90. Junior Sophia Garris finished fifth (44.60); while freshman Julia Mead, sophomore Bridget Waas and sophomore Arianna Ringold came in sixth through eighth, respectively.

“We had multiple boards, so we were constantly in motion,” Garris said. “I was able to learn seven new dives and now have improved confidence and kinesthetic awareness on the pool deck.”

The NMU swimming team returns to action on Saturday at Minnesota State-Mankato.
