MARQUETTE — Sophomore Makaylee Kuhn continues to handle a major portion of the scoring load for the Northern Michigan University women’s basketball team and that helped earn her third GLIAC North Player of the Week honor on Monday.

Kuhn, who totaled 73 points while making 30 of 35 free throws in a pair of games vs. Purdue Northwest, raised her scoring average to 20.1 points per game, the only Wildcat averaging in double figures.

The Wildcats won Friday 73-61 as Kuhn scored 34 points, then won 65-55 on Saturday with Kuhn putting in a career-high 39. She hit a pair of 3-pointers while making 14 of 16 free throws on Friday, then made her only triple try and sank 16 of 19 free throws on Saturday.

She also pulled down nine rebounds on Friday and another seven Saturday while adding four assists Friday and two blocked shots and two steals on Saturday.
