Northern Michigan University eSports team sweeps pair of matches from Cornell

MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University League of Legends eSports team played Saturday in its first match of the winter semester and also its first match of the College League of Legends Season, earning a 2-0 clean sweep over Cornell College.

The first game saw a strong carry performance out of Jungler Austin “Not in my House” Bergquist on Taliyah. He picked up a Quadra on his way to a 14/3/13 scoreline with 238 CS while dealing 35 percent of the team damage to champions.

Game two saw Top Laner Dillon “Lost Astartes” Gaines play nonselfish League of Legends, sacrificing CS and his lane to help his team to a victory while still having an impressive 12/3/9 scoreline and led the team in damage to enemy champions.

The MVP for the series went to Bergquist, posting a 23/4/20 combined scoreline and a 10.75 KDA.

The team has matches scheduled each of the next five Saturdays.
