To the Journal editor: I understand party loyalty. My parents, aunts and uncles were lifelong Republicans. Many times, I have held my nose and voted straight Democratic even when I had no great love for any of the candidates. Mail delivery spotty

To the Journal editor: US Postal Service delivery in south Marquette seems to be periodically skipped. About a month ago, we had no mail delivery for three days straight. There was no mail delivered (Monday) .... Is there a staff shortage at the local post office? If so, can the post office please communicate with the city residents on its plans to resolve this ongoing issue?

Michigan HB 4765 will suppress your vote

On the surface, this bill may look like it’s about voter identification and preventing so called fraud, but it’s really about making voting harder for eligible citizens in the state of Michigan. The writer explained how he recently purchased a Chevy EV pickup and is happily avoiding the volatile fuel prices of a declining petroleum resource, reducing his climate change impact and also the apparently excessive maintenance costs of owning a gas-powered Jeep. To the Journal editor: Dry pavements are now the lanes for those who walk and bike. The non-polluting means of getting around are less costly than driving. And if your lane took you out so far that you would like a ride back, try mass transit. Busses have bike racks. Cutting emissions for Earth Day and everyday just makes cents.
