Supporting Redettes nickname
To the Journal editor:
Although I agree with most of what Lynn Domina wrote in her recent letter to the editor, on one point I beg to differ. I don’t consider the term Redettes to be a “silly diminutive” but rather just a female version of a name.
Take for instance the names Paul and Paulette, George and Georgette, Claude and Claudette or Bernard and Bernardette to name a few. I don’t think the female versions of these names implies anything diminutive at all.
I know many Redettes are proud of the name as well they should be.
