Ishpeming Lions Club Food Drive benefits local food pantry

A huge thank you to the Ishpeming Lions Club for organizing a food drive benefitting the Ishpeming Society of St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry. Local businesses including Carpet Specialists, Fox Negaunee, Jubilee Foods, Super One (Negaunee) and Turino Chiropractic Center participated as drop off locations for food. Lions Clubs from across the Upper Peninsula (Michigan’s District 10) also donated food items during their annual conference hosted in Ishpeming recently. Nearly 800 pounds of food was collected and $500 was donated to the Ishpeming St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. John and St. Joseph Conference in Ishpeming and all of those people who directly benefit from the food pantry extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the businesses, Lion Clubs and individuals who donated and continue to spread the word about the Pantry needs. Congratulations to the Ishpeming Lions Club for winning the Big Can traveling trophy this year and we look forward to future partnerships to benefit our community.
