To the Journal editor:

Although the whistleblower issue raises serious questions about impeachment, the most serious reason to remove Trump from office is his ignorant and impulsive decision — apparently without any advice or consultation with the U.S. State Department or the military — to abruptly withdraw support from our most faithful and reliable Kurdish co-combatants.

He apparently did this to please the Turkish tyrant Erdogan who has every intention of eradicating those very allies we have so desperately depended on in our war against ISIS. And, of course, Trump also wants to please Putin, who will greatly profit from this decision as well.

You are fooling yourself if you think that this president in any way represents our true core American values. In front of the whole world, he has dragged our country and its flag through a swamp of shame and disgrace.

Who will now feel that we can be trusted to stand up and honor the obligations we have to any future partners?
