To the Journal editor:

The members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul want to thank the U.S. Postal Service employees and the citizens of the Marquette area for supporting the recent post office sponsored food drive.

We greatly appreciate your donations of canned foods and the extra work provided by the mail carriers to collect the bags of food for the St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry. This will certainly help feed our neighbors in need in the Marquette area.

We also want to thank Reinhart Foods, Inc. for their recent donation. We received a large donation of fresh fruit and vegetables along with other food items from their annual Food Show held at Lakeview Arena on May 6, 2015.

Reinhart Foods, Inc. has been donating to the St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry for a number of years and the families receiving food look forward to the fresh produce made available to them.

Both of these events certainly help us feed our neighbors in need at the Marquette and Gwinn St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantries.

The donations are especially helpful now that we are feeding more 1,200 families a month.
