Supports Props 1, 2

To the Journal editor:

We who live in God’s country should not be influenced by the Humane Society of the United States. This political organization receives monetary contributions from animal lovers who think they are donating money to local pet shelters and utilizing a large portion of the money for anti-hunting crusades.

In 2012 the United States Fish and Wildlife Service delisted wolf protection in our region and transferred the power to manage wolves to the state of Michigan.

Western states surrounding Yellowstone National Park have seen wolf pack predation significantly reduce elk populations. This year Montana will issue five permits per applicant to hunt this predator.

Wisconsin has been controlling wolf numbers by hunting and trapping. They reach their quota annually.

Michigan needs to follow guidelines set by Wisconsin. The only avenue to control the number of wolves in the U.P. is to hunt and trap.

Help send a message to the HSUS and the group called Keep Michigan Wolves Protected.

Unite Yoopers. A yes vote on 1 and 2 will show support for the management of Michigan wolves.
