Summer festival season now in full swing
While summer doesn’t technically start until third week of June, summer activities have been underway for a while now.
For many, the Fourth of July marks the halfway point of summer and while everyone is getting ready for their Independence Day celebrations, the Marquette area still has much to offer for the rest of the summer months.
Summer in Marquette is often synonymous with festivals and 2024 has plenty to look forward to.
In just a few short weeks, one of Marquette’s most popular festivals returns as the Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival kicks off the Friday, July 19 and continues through Sunday July 21.
The annual fesitval features bluegrass, folk, acoustic blues, folk and many other traditional musical styles.
2024 marks the 44th annual edition of the festival and features several local, state and national artists. A full lineup of artists and ticket information can be found online at www.hiawathamusic.org.
Just seven days after Hiawatha marks another big weekend for the Marquette area, with the Blueberry Festival, Art on the Rocks and the Outback Art Fair all taking place the weekend that starts July 26.
Later in the summer sees the 2024 Marquette Area Blues Festival taking place the last weekend of August, as well as other events like the U.P. Fall Beer Festival on the horizon in September.
We hope everyone has a safe and eventful Fourth of July but would like to remind you to save some energy for all of the exciting upcoming events that follow.
