David L. Dill
MARQUETTE, MI – David L. Dill, 83, passed away on May 10, 2026, at Eastwood Nursing Center.
David was born on March 11, 1943, in Oak Lawn, IL to Donald and Rebecca (Coleman) Dill. He attended Northwestern University and Wayne State University, earning a Master of Arts degree in psychology in 1967.
In 1979, he married Anne Archibald. Throughout their marriage, the couple lived in several communities across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, a region they proudly called home.
For nearly 50 years, David dedicated his life to helping children and families as a social worker and therapist. He served with several Michigan agencies, including Starr Commonwealth, Child and Family Services of the Upper Peninsula, Good Will Farm, Copper Country Mental Health Services, and Catholic Social Services of the Upper Peninsula.
David especially treasured the time he spent at his family camp on Johnson Lake near Gwinn, a special place originally built by his grandfather and filled with cherished memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Wendy and John Hege of Palmer, AK; grandchildren, Heather, Cord, Joshua, and Lars Hege; brother-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Archibald of Gwinn; and sister-in-law, Jane Archibald of Minnetonka, MN
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rebecca Dill; stepson, David Nault; brother, Forrest Dill; brothers-in-law, Peter and Tony Archibald; and sister-in-law, Lois Archibald.
A private memorial service will be held in his memory.
