FMCA students harvest their potatoes

Father Marquette Catholic Academy science teacher Laura Ricklard guides students sampling parsley buttered potatoes as they celebrate their potato harvest on Spud Day. Students planted, harvested and prepared potatoes. Their next days are Salsa Day and Fried Green Tomatoes Day during their harvest. Plants are part of the Holy Rosary Garden at the school which includes berries, vegetables, perennials, annuals and shrubs. Most vegetables and flowers were grown from seeds in their classroom as part of University of Michigan and MARESA health projects.
