Alger foundation presents grants

MUNISING – The Alger Regional Community Foundation recently presents grants during one of its two annual grant cycles.

The following grants were presented recently during the spring/summer granting cycle: Noquemanon Trail Network to purchase a mini excavator for building single-track hiking/biking trails; Music in the Air Program in Grand Marais; Munising Public Schools to purchase a document camera and projector; city of Munising for the city beautification flower project; Munising Bay Quilt Guild for its Quilt Camp; Burt Township for the Frank W. Mead Community Center improvement project; Great Start Collaborative to purchase a log themed structure for the indoor playground; Camp New Day UP to cover the cost of the one-week camp for youths from Alger County; First Lutheran Church of Grand Maris to purchase supplies for building repairs and upkeep; Alger Parks and Recreation department’s 2014 Day Kamp; D.A.R.E Program to purchase educational supplies; Child & Family Services of the U.P. to purchase supplies for its Communities that Care Program; 2014 Life of Lake Superior Program; and Alger Parks & Recreation Department to purchase supplies.
