Doucette 1st VP of association

AuTRAIN – Jerry Doucette, longtime Alger County Board member, was elected first vice president of the Michigan Association of Counties during the association’s annual conference held recently.

In addition to being a vice president, Doucette serves on the organization’s 18-member board of directors. As first vice president, Doucette is in line to lead MAC in its 2015-16 year.

In addition, he was recently re-appointed to the association’s Veteran’s Affairs Subcommittee and the Economic Development and Labor Subcommittee.

Doucette and his wife Michelle live in AuTrain.

MAC, which was founded on Feb. 1, 1898, represents county governments and interests across Michigan at the state and federal levels. More than 200 county commissioners and other county officials were in attendance at the annual conference, held this year on Mackinac Island.
