Dickinson County board approves library millage

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Library will levy its full millage amount of 0.8988 mills in 2024, the final year of a levy county voters approved in August 2018. GLADSTONE — The newest member of the Gladstone Public Safety Department was introduced to city commissioners Monday. Public Safety Officer Nadeau-Enright presented K-9 Bico, Gladstone’s new, already-successful police dog, before the floor returned to the Gladstone City Commission and other city matters. Group files petition signatures in Moyle recall

By The Daily Press ESCANABA — A group of residents seeking to remove Delta County Commission Chair Dave Moyle has officially filed signatures for his recall with the county clerk’s office. By state law, recall petition signatures older than 60 days are automatically invalidated due to their age. However, the 823 signatures submitted Monday were all collected within a 47-day window — 40 days of active collection and a seven day break due to the Upper Peninsula State Fair — meaning no signatures are invalid based on age alone. Man arrested after threats against schools made

IRON MOUNTAIN — A 30-year-old man has been arrested after authorities received a tip on possible threats made to an area elementary school. This threat was supposed to happen during “Spirit Week,” at either Woodland Elementary in Kingsford or North Elementary in Iron Mountain, Edwin Mattson, director of Iron Mountain Police and Fire Services, stated in a news release.
