UPPCO: Fishing platform at Dam 3 closed after weekend damage

MARQUETTE – Upper Peninsula Power Company has temporarily closed the public fishing platform at Dam 3 Reservoir on the Escanaba River after the platform sustained damage over the weekend, according to an UPPCO press release. The closure is limited to the fishing platform and does not affect operation of the hydroelectric facility. The wooden fishing platform sustained structural damage over the weekend and has been determined unsafe for public use. UPPCO is assessing the extent of the damage and developing a repair plan.
