Vehicle accident investigated

HARVEY — On Monday at approximately 8:34 a.m., Chocolay Township Police Department officers were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident on M-28 near the Alger County line. Initial reports stated that the driver was trapped in the vehicle and that the vehicle may have been smoking. Quick acting citizens were able to get the driver out of the truck and to a safe location. An investigation showed that the truck was traveling east-bound on M-28 and left the roadway to the south. Lost woman is found safe

MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Search and Rescue team was called out late Sunday after receiving a report of a missing woman in the area of the Hogsback Recreation Area. According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, a 26-year-old Marquette woman, who had been hiking in the area of Hogsback at around 8:55 p.m. Sunday, became disoriented while running and was unable to find her way back to the parking lot.
