MARQUETTE — There will be a reception from 1-4 p.m. today for Simon Barrett at the Zero Degrees Art Gallery, 525 N. Third St. in Marquette.

Barrett is home schooled and has been involved in art for most of his life, He is showing several oil paintings along with pen and ink drawings at Zero Degrees for the months of July and August.

According to a release from the gallery: “His paintings and drawings show a skill level that reflects years of practice and art lessons from Elizabeth Howe culminating in his own unique style.”

The paintings, drawings and prints are for sale at the gallery and he will be there for the reception this coming Saturday. The public is invited to come to meet him and see his work, along with the work of the 40 other local artists in the gallery. There is no charge and refreshments are provided.
