MARQUETTE — Backpack SOS (Support Our Students) will take place on Saturday at Silver Creek Church.

School-aged children will receive backpacks, school supplies, hygiene kits and clothing vouchers for Silver Creek Thrift.

Starting at 9 a.m. and going until 11 a.m., this drive-thru event requires no pre-registration. Families are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow the directions of the parking lot team.

Backpack SOS (formerly the Silver Creek Neighborhood Block Party) is supported in part through grants and donations from the Community Foundation of Marquette County, Breakfast Rotary, the Walmart Foundation and the Michigan Dental Association.

Supplies are limited but every effort will be made to help each family who attends.
