Driver hospitalized after accident
MARQUETTE — A driver was hospitalized following a personal injury accident in South Marquette Monday.
At approximately 4:14 p.m., officers from the Marquette Police Department were dispatched to the area of U.S. 41 South near the Welcome Center for a personal injury accident, a press release from the department states. A black SUV, driven by 31-year-old Marquette resident Charisse Morris, was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline and hit a northbound tan SUV, driven by 47-year-old Marquette resident Patrick Markey, head on.
Markey had a complaint of a minor injury but refused medical treatment. Morris was transported by ambulance to UPHS and admitted for non-life-threatening injuries.
A third vehicle, driven by 67-year-old Marquette resident James Drosen, was involved but no injuries were sustained.
Morris was found at fault for the accident but the cause is still under investigation.
No further information is being released at this time.
