Alzheimer’s walk today

Mill Creek Assisted Living residents and staff are pictured wearing tie-dye purple shirts made by residents in support of today’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Mill Creek has made a variety of fundraising efforts for its team in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event throughout the year, holding bake sales, craft sales, a cute baby photo contest, a cute pet photo contest and more. The group is “very proud of their fundraising efforts” this year, organizers said. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, will start at 10 a.m. today and continue through noon. Registration is available on-site from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The walk will start at the Northern Michigan University Jacobetti Complex, proceed north on the multi-use path, crossing Hawley Street and proceeding to Presque Isle and then returning along the same route. The walk is to occur exclusively on the on the multi-use path and participants are to follow the rules of the road, however the public is asked to be aware of and be considerate toward people crossing the street.
