Crash results in minor injuries

MARQUETTE — A Marquette woman sustained minor injuries as the result of a two-vehicle crash Saturday.

According to a Marquette County Sheriff’s office press release, a Toyota Avalon driven by a 23-year-old Texas man failed to yield while making a left turn from southbound U.S. 41 around 2:40 p.m. He turned in front of a UP Health System Nursing vehicle traveling north on U.S. 41 driven by a 63-year-old female from Marquette.

Officials say the female was transported to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment of minor injuries by EMS. The driver of the Toyota was issued a citation for failing to yield.

County health board to meet

MARQUETTE — The regular monthly meeting of the Marquette County Board of Health will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in room 231 of the Henry A. Skewis Courthouse Annex, Marquette.

New Free Store seeks donations

HARVEY — The New Free Store, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting a rummage sale on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in The New Free Store and Lakestate parking lot at 1420 M-28 East.

The group is seeking donations of useable quality items to be sold at the rummage sale. Donations may be dropped off at The New Free Store on Tuesdays prior to the sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or during the store’s open hours. Organizers are also offering space for individuals and home businesses to rent a spot for $10. Vendors must bring their own tables. Donations and participation are always needed and will help support the store’s operational expenses so that organizers can continue serving over 700 local families with the basic necessities of living.
