CALUMET — Charges are pending for a 54-year-old Calumet man after police conducted a two-month long investigation into allegations of the illegal sale of prescription drugs and attempted solicitation of sex for drugs.

Police executed a search warrant at the man’s Pine Street residence and found prescription drugs and a small amount of cash they said was related to the sale of prescription drugs, according to a press release from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team. Police also seized a pistol and two long guns from the residence.

The suspect, who was not identified by police, was lodged at the Houghton County Jail, and the case is being reviewed by the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office.
