MDOT to begin resurfacing project
MARQUETTE — Starting Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $3 million to resurface a total of nearly 16 miles of U.S. 41 from M-28 to Mead Road and U.S. 141 from the Iron County line 4.5 miles north.
The project also includes asphalt joint repairs and construction of a snowplow turnaround near Baraga Plains Road. This project has a three-year pavement performance warranty. One lane will be open in alternating directions under flag control.
This project, which is expected to be completed in early August, will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway, according to MDOT.
