SHINGLETON — A single-snowmobile personal injury accident was reported around 11:30 p.m. Sunday to the Alger County Sheriff’s Office. The accident occurred on Trail No. 8, near the intersection of M-28 and Shingleton road, according to a press release issued by the Alger County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials received information that a man, 34, on a snowmobile had left the snowmobile trail and drove into a creek. It was estimated that the man was at the scene for around 45 minutes prior to the discovery and report of the incident. He was transported for treatment to UP Health System-Marquette by Valley Med Flight.

The Alger County Sheriff’s Office, the Alger County Rescue “21” unit and Alger Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
