MARQUETTE — As of early today, no new information was being released regarding a body discovered Friday morning near the Marquette shoreline, according to the Marquette Police Department.

At 9:03 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call of a body in Lake Superior about 200 yards south of the Lower Harbor ore dock. Upon arrival, police located the body of the unidentified male subject.

Personnel from the MPD and the Marquette Fire Department recovered the body and continued to investigate, searching the nearby area. Police were assisted by EMS personnel from UP Health System-Marquette.
