MARQUETTE — More and more motorscooters are being seen around town, most being driven by teenagers who police say could be a hazard to themselves and others. “I don’t think they’re old enough to ride these things,” said Marquette Police Chief George Johnson. “I don’t think the majority of kids are mature enough.” “I think (scooters) are very dangerous,” he added. “With any type of motorcycle that isn’t used properly, you’re going to run into trouble.” Johnson said there have been some reports about scooter drivers involved in accidents and not obeying traffic rules but there haven’t been as many complaints as he expected.”

ISHPEMING — A move to discourage costly depredations in the city, such as breaking street lights, destroying signs and ruining lawns and shrubbery, has been taken by Marshal W.H. Trevarrow.
