Bids sought for corridor project

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Hospital Transportation Improvements Project is currently being advertised for bids for reconstruction of the U.S. 41 corridor and adjacent local streets upgrades.

According to an announcement from the City of Marquette, bids for this project are due on March 24. Bids will be reviewed for bidding requirements and accuracy.

It is anticipated that the Marquette City Commission at the April 10 regular meeting will approve the contractor for this project as recommended by the City Manager and staff.

The project is anticipated to start in late April. The start will be based on the City receiving all the documents required from the contractor to begin construction, as well as securing purchase agreements for property acquisition. The project will be phased to minimize disruptions to the public.

Weekly updates will be provided by the city on the project such as; progress, traffic changes/ detours, and other areas of interest on the website at www.mqtcty.org.
