Bell clinic moves out of Teal Lake facility

ISHPEMING – Bell Family Medicine and Walk-in Clinic will open in its new location Monday.

Formerly located at the Bell Teal Lake Medical Center, the clinic is changing to Bell Medical Clinic in suite 201 adjacent to the hospital on Lakeshore Drive in Ishpeming.

Previously made appointments beginning Monday will continue as scheduled at the new location, said Ruth Solinski, vice president of organizational development at Bell.

“We took a look at the space in the medical building and realized we had sufficient space to consolidate our family practice providers into a single family medicine clinic,” Solinski said. “Part of the reason that we thought this move was important was that the equipment and services we have in the new building are state of the art.”

Solinski said the new arrangement will offer a broader range of laboratory and radiology work for patients. It also puts all of the family practice physicians in one clinic, rather than in three separate offices, she said.

“We are kind of busting at the seam as far as our rehabilitation services are concerned, so we’re hoping that some of the space constraints concerns we have at Teal Lake will be able to be solved with re-utilizing that space to better serve their patients,” Solinski said.

She said Bell does not plan to sell the Teal Lake building.

“We’ve had no one even express interest in the building and we definitely have need for the space for our high quality rehabilitated services,” she said.

Anyone who has questions regarding the move or their appointment is asked to contact their provider’s office.
