One dead in Marinette County UTV crash

MARQUETTE — An 18-year-old Menomonee Falls man was killed Saturday as the result of a UTV crash.

According to Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller, on Saturday at 4:46 p.m. Marinette County Dispatch received a report of a single UTV crash in the Wisconsin town of Niagara.

Miller says that after investigating the scene, police found that the UTV operated by 18-year-old Gabriel N. Avila-Neuheisel was traveling along a dirt trail on private property when he lost control of the UTV and it rolled over. Police say that Avila-Neuheisel was not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Niagara Police Department, Niagara Fire Department, Niagara Rescue and Integrity Care EMS.
