MARQUETTE — A car crashed through the front of the CosmoProf store in Marquette Township early Thursday afternoon, resulting in damage to the building’s facade but no injuries.

Firefighters with the Marquette Township Fire Department on the scene said Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched to the site of the crash and left shortly after.

MSP would not release details at the time The Mining Journal reached out to them.

CosmoProf store manager Ellie Solieski and one other employee were the only ones working at the business when the crash occurred.

“I, luckily, was in the other corner, the back corner of the store,” Solieski said. “I thought one of our light fixtures had just fallen down and crashed on some product, and then I turned the corner and I see a car in the front of the store.”

She reported that aside from the wall, the only other damage done to the store was the two product displays that were hit by the car. Products displaced by the accident were all gathered into one small shopping cart.

“We’re hoping to have our retaining wall built by the end of the day today and then we should be back in business by tomorrow morning,” Solieski said. “Can’t let our stylists be without their stuff.”
