MBLP alerts Westwood Mall on power outage

MARQUETTE — In a letter from the Marquette Board of Light and Power, it alerted Westwood Mall occupants of a potential outage due to non-payment.

“Due to the configuration of the electrical system at the Westwood Mall, you may experience an outage if Marquette Board of Light and Power is required to disconnect your landlord or neighbors,” the letter read.

According to the BLP, it is currently “preparing to take action against one or more customers at Westwood Mall for delinquent non-payment.”

BLP said in the letter that some building systems may be affected by the potential disconnection of power and has therefore notified the Marquette Township Fire Marshal.

The letter further reads, “We have made multiple attempts to resolve the issue with the delinquent parties.”

The letter stated that power was scheduled for disconnection today.

Questions should be directed to the BLP at 906-228-0311.
