Remembering our vets

Chapter 380 of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion Post 44 Honor Guard carry the colors during the Memorial Day service at Park Cemetery in Marquette. The community attending the service and other Memorial Day events shows that support for veterans has not wavered, said Tom Ranta, adjutant for Post 44 of Marquette. “This being different than Veterans Day, these are the ones that gave the ultimate price — their life for our country — so it’s important that we never forget them, for without them there may not be what we have in the United States right now. So it’s vitally important,” Ranta said. (Journal photo by Trinity Carey)
