Marquette man dies in Kalkaska County crash

KALKASKA — A Marquette man is dead as the result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday on U.S. 131 near Wood Road in downstate Kalkaska County.

Jerel Michael-Douglas Glenn, 29, died after the Chevrolet Impala he was driving southbound on U.S. 131 veered across the centerline into the path of a large northbound panel van driven by Vernon Torney of Fife Lake at about 11:47 a.m., according to a Kalkaska County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Glenn was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Impala, Mikayla Hollands of Skandia, was transported to Munson Medical Center with injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Torney was uninjured in the collision, officials said, and denied medical treatment at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, the release states.
