Delta man drowns in Forsyth Township

GWINN– A 20-year-old Delta County man died as a result of accidental drowning at the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp in Little Lake on Tuesday evening.

The man, who was not identified in a Forsyth Township Police Department press release on Wednesday, was located in the water by camp staff at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and brought to shore where life-saving measures were attempted.

Officials say the man, identified as Cody Cayer by the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp’s Facebook page, was placed in the care of Forsyth Township Police, EMS and Fire departments upon their arrival at the scene, when he was transported to UP Health System-Marquette.

Cayer was a summer intern at the camp, according to the Wednesday UPBC Facebook post.

“Please pray for the Cayer family and the UPBC camp family,” the post states.
