Tilden Township millage proposals approved

TILDEN TOWNSHIP — Tilden Township voters chose to approve two millage proposals during Tuesday’s election.

The Tilden Township Fire Protection Millage was approved 191-33.

The new millage marks an increase of .35 mills, or 0.35 cents per $1,000 of taxable value. The 10-year levy will run through 2031 to provide fire protection and emergency services in Tilden Township.

It is estimated that the millage will raise an estimated $12,600.00 in the first year that it is levied.

Voters also approved the Tilden Township Garbage Hauling/Disposal Millage at a 187-37 vote margin.

The .65 mill levy, or 0.65 cents per $1,000 of taxable value, is in effect for 10 years. It will pay for garbage hauling, disposal and recycling services through 2031.

The estimated value in the first year of the millage is $23,400.00.
