MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Board of Commissioners selected former Negaunee Mayor Dana LaLonde to fill the seat left behind by late Commissioner Gerry Corkin during a Tuesday meeting.

LaLonde was picked from a pool of six candidates who applied to fill the vacant 4th District seat after Corkin died on Sept. 21.

LaLonde has served as the Mayor of Negaunee. She currently serves as a member of the Negaunee City Council.

She will serve out the remainder of Corkin’s term and would be required to run for re-election in November of 2024.
