Open seats on Negaunee council

NEGAUNEE — Two seats on the Negaunee City Council are up for grabs in Tuesday’s general election, but only one candidate will appear on the ballot.

Kevin Flohe will likely fill one of those seats, as he’s the only name to appear on the ballot. As of earlier this week, there is at least one confirmed write-in candidate, Dana LaLonde, who officially registered with the Negaunee City Clerk’s Office.

The winners of Tuesday’s election will each serve a three-year term replacing outgoing Councilors Jim Kantola and Bill Anderson, whose terms expire on Nov. 30.

Three seats are open on the Negaunee Board of Review, with two one-year terms expiring Nov. 30, 2020, and one seat with a two-year term expiring Nov. 30, 2021.

No candidates applied for those seats, according to the ballot.
