Programs on composting coming up

NORWAY — Are you interested in learning more about how to compost successfully? Do you want to know more about the benefits of composting and recycling for you, the environment and your garden? Or, do you already compost and would you like to teach others about how to successfully compost?

The Extension Master Composter program is designed for anyone interested in learning more about how to successfully compost in their own backyard.

Join MSU Extension staff and other local professionals to learn more about the history of composting, the process of composting, environmental benefits, water cycle, yard waste reduction techniques, worm composting, bin equipment and site selection, benefits and uses, as well as municipal composting.

Classes will be held at the Norway High School on Fridays, March 13, 20, 27 and Wednesday, April 1 from 5:30-9 p.m. CST. Registration is required online. Early-bird registration fee of $50 is by Friday. After Friday through March 11, registration is $60. Go to: https:/events.anr.msu.edu/UPMasterComposter2020/

To gain Master Composter certification, registrants will also be required to complete an online volunteer selection process. Once registered, you will be provided with instructions to complete this process.
