UPAWS rummage — The 10th annual Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter rummage sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale is in the same place as last year, in the office complex behind Jasmine restaurant (across from Frei Chevrolet) on U.S. 41 just east of the Westwood Mall in Marquette.

Cambensy — State Rep. Sara Cambensy (D-Marquette) invites residents to join her and special guest state Sen. Wayne Schmidt at an upcoming coffee hour to ask questions and discuss issues affecting the state and local communities. The event will be at Timber Charlie’s Food & Spirit, 110 Newberry Ave., Newberry, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rep. Bingo — Bell Auxiliary is sponsoring a senior luncheon and bingo every third Friday of the month. The luncheon/bingo will be at the Ishpeming Senior Center from noon to 2 p.m. There is no charge. Community Fair — Citizens of Marquette County are invited to join Upper Peninsula Health Plan and Upper Peninsula Health Care Solutions for the first-ever Marquette County Community Resource Fair from noon to 4 p.m. at Lakeview Arena. Free and open to the public, the fair will connect residents directly with local organizations that are available to assist and support their day-to-day social needs. Event attendees will be able to receive onsite navigation assistance, in addition to becoming more aware of the resources available to them in our communities.

Schizophrenics Alliance Group — is a six-step support group for individuals with schizophrenia or a related disorder. Meetings will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Brantley Drop-In. Contact Annette at 226-1077 for more information.

Chess for Kids — 2-4 p.m. Peter White Public Library Great Room. Chess for intermediate and above. Will match skill levels between opponents as best as possible, for ages 6 and up. Fish fry — Marquette Elks Lodge 405 Fish Fry is from 4:30-7 p.m. The public is welcome. Chef Jeff will make to order whitefish, baked or fried with a choice of lemon pepper, cajun, ragin cajun spices or plain. Shrimp and beer battered cod round out the seafood choices. Burgers and chicken strips are available too. All dinners include choice of baked potato, fries or onion rings, salad bar and a made from scratch dessert. Live music by Bobby Buchkoe is part of the evening as well. The Marquette Elks Lodge is located at 127 N. Front St. Reservations are accepted. Call 906-226-7611. Fish fry — is 5-7:30 p.m., Negaunee Eagles Club.

Teen Night — is 6-10 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Gwinn. Free movies, games and popcorn. Call 346-6115.

Tae Kwon Do School — Martial arts class from 6-6:45 p.m. for kids; 7-8:15 p.m. for adults, 1310 S. Front St., Marquette. Visitors welcome. Call 485-1366.

Mamma Mia! — Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre presents “Mamma Mia!” at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the public, $10 for students and $5 for NMU students. Tickets are available for purchase at NMU EZ Ticket outlets.
