Symphony concert this week

MARQUETTE — The public is invited to hear Marquette Symphony Orchestra musicians perform in a different way — small chamber ensembles.

MSO musician-volunteers will present the orchestra’s third annual Chamber Music Collage Concert at Reynolds Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Small ensembles have been formed to present a collage with a variety of musical styles — all within two 30-minute non-stop music halves. Orchestra members are excited about this concert and have prepared a delightful mix of fun and serious selections. The event provides a unique opportunity for the musicians to perform chamber music and the collage format will make it a special treat for the audience, too.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and are available at the door only by cash, check or credit card.

Reynolds Recital Hall is located inside the Hedgcock Building on the Northern Michigan University campus.

Funding for the Marquette Symphony Orchestra is provided in part by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. The orchestra is an equal opportunity organization.
