Donations needed for all blood types

MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center is experiencing a critical need for blood donations of all types across the U.P. The UPRBC has collection sites in Marquette, Hancock and Escanaba and it is the primary supplier of blood products to Upper Peninsula hospitals. Caregivers workshop planned

ISHPEMING — Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week in-person workshop, designed for the non-professional, informal family caregiver, will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. EST Thursdays, Aug. 13 through Sept. 17, at the Ishpeming Senior Center, 121 Greenwood St., Ishpeming. Sand Point road closure postponed

MUNISING — The planned closure of Sand Point Road has been postponed until further notice because of unexpected project delays. Sand Point Road and the beach remain open and accessible. The closure, originally scheduled to start Wednesday of this week and run through Friday, July 17, was intended for a culvert replacement project beginning at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore boundary.
